    Duties:

    • Prepare, cook and deliver complete meals and snacks with meticulous focus on food safe practices and quality control. 

    • Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers

    • Oversee kitchen operations

    • Order supplies, manage inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment

    • Maintain high standards ensuring the kitchen and work areas are clean and sanitized. 

    • May plan menus ensuring the daily nutritional needs of the children are met. 

    • Determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, monitor and order groceries

    Qualifications Required:

    Early Childhood Education Level 1,2 or 3 or the willingness to achieve level 1 minimum

    Starting Wages:

    $19-$26 depending on level of education

     

    Duties:

    • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children

    • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity

    • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

    • Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members

    • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor

    • Guide and assist children in the development of self help skills by encouraging independence and problem solving skills.

    • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with families, co-workers and community service providers working with children to promote holistic growth in young children.

    • Prepare progress reports and implement personal program plans for children requiring additional support 

    • May be required to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
